Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

In-House Technology.

Housed within Rutgers Cancer Institute is a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility. Our GMP facility enables the production of vectors and cells for adoptive cell transfer in support of clinical trials. Furthermore, Rutgers Cancer Institute is home to a strong Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, which will enable cell harvest and safe reinfusion vital to the completion of innovative research to further the possibilities of this type of treatment, including CAR T.

Collaboration Within an Elite Network.

Collaboration across Rutgers and Princeton Universities provides a rich and unique environment from which the Center of Excellence can analyze and manipulate the link between cancer metabolism and immunology, with the goal of innovation in cancer therapeutics. We also have established a collaboration with the New York Blood Center to develop new cellular therapies in collaboration with Rutgers Cancer Institute’s Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.

In addition, external academic and commercial entities have pursued collaboration with Rutgers Cancer Institute with interest in leveraging the clinical trials network. This same network will provide a setting for efficient research and translation for discovery made through the Duncan and Nancy MacMillan Cancer Immunology and Metabolism Center of Excellence.
