  • Cloned the Drosophila homolog of the EGF receptor and two of its ligands and studied genetics and developmental roles over the years
  • First to show effects of the Cbl oncogene on EGF receptor activity in an in vivo model of development
  • Demonstrated existence of a meiotic checkpoint in Drosophila and investigated consequences of its loss
  • Cloned Drosophila BRCA2 homolog and investigated effects of its loss in DNA repair and checkpoint activity
  • Collaboration with Yibin Kang on effects of Rabconnectin-3B on Notch signaling in cancer cell lines
  • Collaboration with Jean Schwarzbauer in the analysis of targeted deposition of extracellular matrix proteins
