Research Interests
- Current research centers on the transcriptional regulatory pathways that involve Drosophila SMRTER and vertebrate SMRT and N-CoR. These three related SANT (Myb-related) domain proteins are characterized as transcriptional co-repressors that mediate the signals of various transcriptional repressors, such as ecdysone receptor, thyroid hormone receptor, retinoic acid receptor, CBF1 (in the Notch signaling pathway) and several oncoproteins (such as PLZF, ETO and TEL, which are linked to leukemia).
