Research Interests

  • We design enzyme inhibitors based on biomimetic and mechanistic principles. Recent systems examined include selenoglutamate and boraglutamate derivatives, GlcNAc-thiazoline and thiosulfonate based inhibitors of N-acetylhexosaminidases, and a seleninic acid tyrosine phosphate mimic that irreversibly inhibits protein tyrosine phosphatases
