Tissue Analytic Services Shared Resource

The objective of the Tissue Analytic Services Shared Resource is to provide collection, preservation and management of human tissues and body fluids in a cost-effective manner to investigators at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.  In addition to collecting tissues, it offers services for laser capture microdissection, automated immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, and creation and manufacture of tissue microarrays.  The shared resource also maintains a web-based tissue database.

Currently underdevelopment is a DNA Banking Service, which will be available in 2007.

The detailed descriptions and related costs for service contained herein are broken down into the following two overarching services:

Tissue Retrieval Service

Immunohistochemistry Service

 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SHARED RESOURCES

The shared resources of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) are specialized service facilities that support the cancer research efforts of our members.

The shared resources are supported primarily by the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute.  Additional support may be provided from other sources, such as chargeback systems, institutional funding and/or other grants. The support from the CCSG allows the core facilities to provide benefits to Cancer Center members, such as ensured access to services or subsidies to user rates.
