Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey neurosurgeon Simon Hanft, MD, and nurse Catherine Furnbach, RN, from the Brain and Spine Tumor Program at the Cancer Institute were honored in June by Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC) during the group’s “Join the Voices!” run/walk event in New Jersey to recognize local heroes for their tireless support and ongoing hope to find a cure. VABC Chairman Michael Klipper (left) and VABC Co-Executive Director Adam Klipper (right) presented Dr. Hanft with the Medical Advisory Award, while Furnbach received the Compassionate Care Award.
