Colorectal Cancer Self-help Group
This group meets the second Tuesday of every month from 7 - 8 pm at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, 901 West Main Street, Freehold. If you or a loved one has ever experienced colorectal cancer, you know it’s one of the biggest challenges a person can face. Luckily, you don’t have to face it alone. Our colorectal cancer self-help group provides a friendly, supportive atmosphere to talk about your experiences. You’ll be surrounded by people who understand exactly what you’re going through, because they’ve been there, too. Leukemia/Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma and Mylodysplasia Support Group
CentraState Healthcare System in collaboration with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society is proud to sponsor this monthly support group for patients and their family members to provide education, psychosocial support, and resources. The Prostate Cancer Support Group (Man to Man)
This unique education and research-based support group is an open forum for men and their family members who are coping with a diagnosis of or treatment for prostate cancer. It is co-facilitated by group members and CentraState Health Awareness Center staff and co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society, Health Awareness Center, and CentraState Medical Center. US TOO! Prostate Lecture Series
This meeting meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 6:00-7:30 PM.
This free monthly meeting is intended to allow survivors of prostate diseases and their families to become well informed, give and receive the support of others, ask questions, and express their concerns. This will be a presentation by medical professionals on the diagnosis, treatment option and management of prostate disease. Light refreshments will be served.

Blood Related Cancer Support Group
This group is for patients diagnosed with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma or other blood malignancies to share experiences and receive support and information. Families and significant others are also invited to attend. This group is affiliated with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This group is held the fourth Thursday of each month 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

This group is designed to allow women with breast cancer to express their concerns, ask questions, get information, and receive the support of others. The group will gather on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Caring for the Caregivers Club
This group is designed for those caring for loved ones with cancer. This group is held the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

Lung Cancer Support Group
This group is for those diagnosed with lung cancer and their families to receive support, information and resources. This group is held the third Tuesday of the month from 1:30pm – 2:30pm.

My Genes, My Risk
Individuals with a hereditary predisposition to cancer can often feel overwhelmed by their risks and the number of options that face them in an attempt to reduce their risks. This genetics support group will offer a safe place for patients to discuss these issues and to meet other patients who share similar concerns. The group is designed for people at high risk of cancer due to their genetic status and their family members who wish to learn more. This group meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

Sister Will You Help Me: A Breast Cancer Support Group for Women of Color and Faith
This group’s mission is to empower through knowledge, encourage through sisterhood, enlighten through faith and to bond through love. Join us for an exciting sister session on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings are held from 6:00-7:30 PM. Meetings are held at 3 Cooper Plaza, Suite 400, Camden.

The Women's Oncology Support Group

Breast Cancer Support Programs at JSUMC:
Jersey Shore's Breast Care Center makes breast health a priority everyday of the year by providing year-round support group meetings. Support groups are designed to help women and men with breast cancer to openly discuss their feelings and provide emotional support to each other. Attendees are encouraged to share information about their experiences with breast cancer. Guest speakers and group outings are among the various activities support group members participate in. The Medical Center has breast cancer support groups that meet on various days and times to meet the needs of most people who need support.

After-Hours Breast Cancer Support Group
This group meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. This group is especially designed for working women.

Breast Cancer Support Group

For women diagnosed with metastatic or recurrent cervical, endometrial, or uterine cancers. This free support group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 PM.

For women diagnosed with cervical, endometrial, ovarian, or uterine cancers. This free support group meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 11:30 AM.

Partners in Healing Support Group
Informal sessions for spouses or significant others of women diagnosed with breast cancer, cervical, endometrial, ovarian, and/or uterine cancer. This support group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.

US Too! Prostate Support Group

Healing Stitches

Reiki Volunteer Program at Mountainside Hospital
At Mountainside Hospital, Reiki is used as a complementary therapy to conventional medical treatments. Reiki is not a religion, creed, or substitute for conventional medical care. Reiki is a simple method of natural healing, intended to provide a calming experience which invokes the relaxation response. Private Reiki treatments are available for patients and caregivers of the Cancer Center at Mountainside Hospital. Educational Programs offered at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center
Being educated about cancer, available treatments, and possible side effects can improve the patient’s ability to cope and heal. We offer several of educational programs to help patients and their families gather as much information as possible about their diagnosis and treatments, including:

Radiation Oncology New Patient Orientation:
An introduction to radiation treatment including information about the Radiation Oncology Department, how radiation therapy is delivered, and how to manage potential side effects. 1st floor Mind/Body Conference Room

Chemotherapy Orientation:

I Cancer-Vive:

Look Good, Feel Better Program:
A program that helps women who are undergoing cancer treatment manage appearance-related side effects. The program teaches make-up application and skin care techniques, as well as wig and hair accessory demonstrations. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society; Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association; and the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. 3rd floor Cancer Center Conference Room. Prostatectomy Pre-Operative Class:
A discussion about what to expect before and after prostate surgery, as well as the support services available during treatment. Men are encouraged to attend with a spouse or partner. Music Therapy at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center
The Cancer Center has a board-certified music therapist available to all interested patients and families for private or group sessions. The therapist works to facilitate relaxation, decrease anxiety, reduce stress, elevate mood, enhance pain management, and provide comfort and support, depending on the needs of the patient or family. These goals can be achieved through live music played by the therapist or patients, or via recorded music in conjunction with vibro-acoustic equipment. No prior music experience is necessary to benefit from this complementary service.

In addition, we offer "Music in the Atrium," a music performance held every Wednesday in the lobby of the Cancer Center. This light, relaxing piano music is provided for the enjoyment and comfort of patients and visitors. This program is unique to this cancer center and offers patients the opportunity to relax, share experiences, and see familiar faces. During the performance light refreshments are served by Cancer Center volunteers. This program is sponsored by The Jeffrey Frank Wacks Memorial Fund.

"Sound Meditation"

"Somatron Sessions"
A vibro-acoustic musical massage designed to decrease anxiety, muscle tension, pain and nausea. Individual Sessions are available Monday-Friday

Integrative Mind Body Programs
Mind body therapies offered at the Cancer Center empower patients to take an active role in their healing and improve the quality of their lives. Meditation, Stress Reduction, Guided Imagery, Yoga, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki Therapy and Therapeutic Touch are a few of the modalities utilized in the integrative programs. In addition, many of these techniques are taught during other educational programs including the eight-week "I Cancer-Vive Program."

"I Cancer-Vive"

Brain Tumor Support Group
This support group is for patients with brain tumors and/or their families. This group meets in Central Access on the 5th floor on Thursdays from 10:30am – 12:00noon. For more information on dates and times, please call Lee Anne Caffrey at 908-522-5349.

Breast Cancer Support Group
A support group for patients who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer. This group meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30pm.

Creative Caring
This Support Group is designed for children (ages 9-12) with a parent with cancer. In a comforting environment, children learn to deal with family cancer issues using expressive therapy techniques including art therapy, drama therapy, and play therapy. Gentle Yoga
A gentle yoga class designed for cancer patients and survivors. Includes exercise, stretching and breathing, to promote awareness and spirituality and calm the psyche. A brief meditation period will be included at the end of each class. The call meets every Friday from 10:30am – 11:45am.

Guided Imagery
This is a program for cancer patients and their support partners, which uses visualization to enhance the immune system’s ability to function and improve one’s sense of emotional well-being. This group meets the first and third Tuesday of the month from 2:00-3:00 PM in the conference room.

Hearts and Hands
This is an open, drop-in support group offering cancer patients and caregivers the opportunity to support “help” each other through knitting and other craft work. So bring your knitting, crochet, beadwork. Laughter, comfort and fun guaranteed! This group meets on Thursdays 2:00-4:00 PM in the conference room.

I Cancer Vive
A six-week program designed to teach the cancer patient and the caregiver mind/body techniques that promote emotional and spiritual healing and wellness. This group meets on Tuesdays from 9:30am-11am in the Spring, Winter and Fall.

Massage Therapy
Message therapy is offered for cancer patients and survivors. Call for an appointment.

Monthly Lecture Series
The Oncology Center at Overlook Hospital is pleased to offer a series of free educational lectures. The lectures are open to everyone and will each run for 30 minutes, followed by a 30 minute question and answer session in the conference room at 12:00-1:00 PM the last Wednesday of the month.

Open Art Workshop
Experience how the creative process can enhance healing and well being. Art supplies provided. Offered daily from 10:am – 12Nooon. The group meets in the Cancer Center conference room on the 5th floor.

Ostomy Support Group
Professionally led group for ostomy patients and their families. Held every other month.

Post Treatment Support Group
This is an open support group for patients who have completed their cancer treatment. This group offers the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns related to survivorship. Meetings are held from 7:00-8:30 PM on the second Thursday of each month.

Annual Breast Cancer Survivors' Fashion Show
Every Spring, RWJ Hamilton celebrates breast cancer survivors with an event that includes a lunch, silent auction and fashion show where all of the models are breast cancer survivors. For information call 609-631-6960.

Annual Cancer Survivors Weekend
This uplifting and inspiring event occurs on the first weekend of June. It begins with the annual candlelit remembrance service in honor of loved ones who have passed away from cancer. The cancer survivors' day, held on either Saturday or Sunday, celebrates life and includes a guest speaker, survivor testimonials and an array of fun activities for the family.

Meetings takes place on the first, second Tuesday and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the CINJ Hamilton conference room. Breast Consultation Program
This program is available to patients who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer or who are seeking a second opinion. It provides a unique approach to treatment and gives every patient an opportunity to discuss her total care privately with healthcare providers. CINJ Hamilton Young Women's Survivors Group
Women age 45 and under living with breast cancer and/or gynecological cancers share information, advice and friendship. The meetings take place the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at CINJ Hamilton. For more information, call 609-584-2836.

Comfort in Clothing Program
Shopping for clothing can be a chore for those dealing with the changes brought about by cancer. This program offers free, comfortable clothing to patients under our care. For more information, call 609-631-6960.

Kids Share - A Workshop for Children
By participating in activities, exercises and discussion, children are given an opportunity to learn more about cancer and how to cope with the challenges it can bring to a family. A separate group for parents is held at the same time. Meet with other families facing similar challenges. Look Good... Feel Better Program
This free program, made possible by the American Cancer Society, is a one-time makeover for women undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation, and is provided by trained cosmetologists and hair stylists. Sharing Your Journey Through Cancer
Discussion and support for people living with cancer, their family and friends. These open discussion meetings help promote mutual problem-solving and facilitate sharing. Teen Support
This group workshop is for teenagers between the ages of 13-18 who have a parent with cancer. Young Women with Cancer Support Group

Breast Surgery Support & Education
When you are diagnosed with breast cancer, you are not alone. Our Breast Surgery Support and Education classes, coordinated by our Rehabilitation Medicine Department, are designed to enhance patients' awareness of the support and services available to them.
