CINJ Celebrates Pillars in the Cancer Community at Its Annual Award of Hope Gala
A magical night of celebration and purpose was held on October 25, 2012, at the CINJ Foundation's Award of Hope Gala that took place at The Palace at Somerset Park. CINJ Foundation Board of Trustees Chair Subha Barry started the evening by welcoming the more than 400 attendees. Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno addressed the room with heartfelt and motivating remarks and called upon CINJ doctors and scientists to work harder each day so that fewer New Jerseyans would be affected by cancer. The Award for Corporate Leadership was presented to PricewaterhouseCoopers and Embrace Kids Foundation received the Award for Philanthropic Leadership. All guests were moved by the tribute video of Dr. Barton Kamen, former Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at CINJ, who was honored posthumously with the Award of Hope for Leadership in Research and Patient Care.
