With 103 beds dedicated solely to cancer patients, RWJ offers wide-ranging oncology-focused services including diagnostic, laboratory and pain management as well as spacious private rooms with hotel-like amenities. In addition, RWJ works with Compassionate Care Hospice to provide four inpatient hospice beds to ensure a smooth transition from acute care to home hospice care.  For pediatric patients, The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital houses the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit. Built beyond the walls of the hospital, the outpatient cancer center provides added convenience and comfort for its patients, including designated parking and an infusion center that overlooks healing gardens designed by the renowned Grounds for Sculpture. Integrated services through the center include nutrition, pharmacy, genetic counseling, physical therapy and rehabilitation and integrative therapy and holistic practitioners. Nurse navigators provide added support and education from diagnosis through treatment and works with Compassionate Care Hospice to provide inpatient hospice beds when needed. The oncology program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and the breast program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. RahwayRobert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway offers the community diagnostic oncology tools including pathology, PET scanning, mammography, low-dose CT scanning for lung cancer screening and navigational bronchoscopy. The facility also offers chemotherapy infusion services and provides disease-specific outpatient rehabilitation, such as lymphedema management and pulmonary rehabilitation. The hospital’s community education program holds health management programs, as well as educational programs devoted to cancer prevention.
